Terms of Service

By creating an account, subscribing to a membership, purchasing credits, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you: (a) are at least 18 years old; (b) have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms; and (c) agree to our Privacy Policy.

⚠️ If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. Continued use after any update means you accept the revised Terms.

The Service is an AI-powered virtual companion chat product. You can have text conversations with fictional AI characters and receive AI-generated voice messages and photos.

The Service is a digital, intangible product delivered over the internet. Access to paid features is granted immediately after payment is confirmed. Because digital services are delivered instantly, refunds are subject to Section 7.

All characters are fictional. AI-generated content does not represent any real person, view, or fact, and is not medical, legal, psychological, financial, or any other professional advice.

The Service uses the following third-party AI models — Chat replies: DeepSeek V3 (DeepSeek, via OpenRouter); Photos: Seedream 4.0 (ByteDance · Volcano Engine); Voice messages: Doubao Seed-TTS 2.0 (ByteDance · Volcano Engine). Paper Boyfriend is an independent product, not affiliated with or endorsed by these providers. Their availability may affect the Service; we will notify you promptly of any major outage.

• You must provide accurate, complete information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You may not transfer, lend, or share your account.
• If you notice any unauthorized use of your account, contact us immediately at hello@boyfriend.click.
• Please keep your registered email address active — billing and service notices are sent there.

We offer both membership subscriptions and credit packs. Current plan details and prices are listed on our pricing page at https://www.boyfriend.click/pricing:

• Free: a limited number of text messages per day.
• Crush membership: billed monthly (US$9.99/month) or yearly (US$59.90/year) and renews automatically until cancelled. Members get unlimited text and voice chat (subject to fair-use limits to prevent abuse) plus 200 bonus credits every month (yearly members also receive them monthly).
• Credit pack: a one-time purchase of 3,000 credits for US$39.99.

Credits are used to unlock AI-generated photos; each photo currently costs 10 credits. Credits are not currency, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred or moved between accounts. We may change plan features or introduce new plans; price changes are handled under Section 5.

• Auto-renewal authorization: By subscribing, you expressly authorize us (through our payment processor) to charge your payment method at the start of each billing period at the price shown when you subscribed. This authorization remains in effect until you cancel under Section 6. Yearly members will receive an email reminder before each renewal.
• Credit purchases: Each credit purchase is a one-time transaction. By completing a purchase you authorize a charge for the amount shown at checkout.
• Price changes: We will email you at least 14 days before any subscription price change. The new price applies from your next billing period, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
• Payment processor: Orders are processed by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Waffo Pancake, which handles payment, taxes, and order-related inquiries and returns. The charge on your card statement may include “Waffo” or the name of the Service.
• Taxes: Where applicable, VAT, GST, sales tax, and similar taxes are shown at checkout and collected and remitted by Waffo Pancake as required by law.

You can cancel your subscription at any time by either:

• Online (recommended): sign in and go to Account → Subscription → Cancel subscription; or
• Email: sending a cancellation request from your registered email address to hello@boyfriend.click.

After you cancel, your membership stays active until the end of the current billing period and you will not be charged again. We will send you a confirmation email. Separately purchased credits are not affected and remain usable until they expire.

Because digital services are delivered instantly, payments are generally non-refundable, except in the following cases:

• 7-day guarantee for new members: first-time subscribers (monthly or yearly) may request a full refund within 7 days of their first charge, provided they have sent no more than 50 messages and have not generated any photos during that time. This is limited to once per person (counted by email address or payment card).
• Credit packs: unused credits may be refunded in full within 7 days of purchase. Credits that have been used are non-refundable.
• Duplicate charges: refunded in full.
• Service outages: if the Service is unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours due to our fault, we will provide a prorated refund or extend your membership.
• Statutory rights: any right of withdrawal or refund granted by applicable law (such as the 14-day cooling-off period in the EU and UK) is preserved.

The following are not refundable:

• subscription periods already used, including renewal charges (except as described above);
• membership refund requests made after 7 days or beyond the usage limits above (monthly and yearly alike);
• accounts closed for violating these Terms or our acceptable-use rules.

How to request a refund: email hello@boyfriend.click with your account email, order number (transaction ID), and the reason. We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and return eligible refunds to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. Once refunded, the related membership benefits or credits are removed. Every refund request is reviewed manually, and we may decline requests that clearly abuse this policy (for example, repeatedly subscribing and requesting refunds through multiple accounts).

• Membership bonus credits: granted monthly. Any unused bonus credits expire at the end of the month and do not roll over.
• Purchased credits: valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, regardless of membership status, and remain usable after you cancel your membership. We will email you a reminder before they expire.
• Order of use: when you hold both kinds of credits, membership bonus credits are used first, then purchased credits.

If you believe a charge is wrong, please email us at hello@boyfriend.click before opening a dispute with your bank. We will respond within 2 business days and resolve confirmed billing errors within 5 business days.

• The interface, code, character artwork, and character designs of the Service are owned by us or our licensors.
• The content you submit remains yours. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use it solely to provide the Service to you (including storing your chat history and building conversation memory). We will not use your input to train AI models without your explicit consent.
• Subject to these Terms, you may use the text, voice, and photos generated for you for personal, non-commercial purposes; the intellectual property in the characters and their designs remains ours.
• AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unexpected material. Do not rely on it for important decisions.

You must not use the Service to generate, attempt to generate, or share the following, or engage in the following conduct:

• any NSFW content, including pornographic, sexually explicit, nude or semi-nude, or sexually suggestive material — the Service is an emotional-companionship product and does not offer adult content;
• violent or gory content, or content that glorifies or incites violence;
• hate speech based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other identity;
• post, or prompt the AI to generate, content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or fraudulent;
• generate content that sexualizes minors or otherwise violates child-protection laws;
• create, distribute, or help create deepfakes, including AI-synthesized audio, video, or images that impersonate real people or are meant to mislead others about their origin or authenticity;
• create malware, phishing content, or tools for cyberattacks;
• infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property or privacy, or impersonate anyone;
• use scripts, crawlers, or other automated means to mass-access the Service, systematically extract model outputs, or disrupt its normal operation;
• reverse-engineer, crack, or bypass the Service’s security measures or billing mechanisms;
• use the Service’s inputs, outputs, or derived data to train, fine-tune, distill, or otherwise develop AI models that compete with the Service;
• resell or share access to the Service without our written permission;
• violate any applicable law, regulation, or card-network rule.

We moderate content with a blocklist, content-safety detection, and human review; we block or remove violating content and may restrict or terminate the accounts involved, in which case membership benefits and credits are forfeited. You can report violating content by emailing hello@boyfriend.click. Our full content standards, moderation process, reporting channels, enforcement, and appeals are set out in our Content Policy (https://www.boyfriend.click/content-policy), which forms part of these Terms.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy at https://www.boyfriend.click/privacy. Payment card data is handled exclusively by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor, Waffo Pancake, and never passes through or is stored on our servers. After you delete your account, your account data is deleted within 90 days, except transaction records we are required by law to keep.

• The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy of AI output.
• ⚠️ AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Do not treat it as legal, medical, psychological, financial, or other professional advice; always consult a qualified professional before acting on it.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These Terms apply for as long as you use the Service. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account if:

• you materially breach these Terms or applicable law;
• we suspect fraud, or your conduct harms or risks harming other users, third parties, or the Service;
• we are required to do so by law or by the authorities.

If we terminate the Service for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the prepaid, unused portion on a prorated basis. You may stop using the Service at any time, or email hello@boyfriend.click to delete your account.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will email you at least 14 days before any material change takes effect and update the date on this page; continued use after that means you accept the changes. If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remains in full effect. These Terms and our Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

If a dispute arises from the Service, please email us before starting any formal proceedings so we can try to resolve it informally.
